Strip Club “Hot Car”
We have all read stories about kids being locked in a car when a parent is shopping or working. But, Ripley may have a difficult time believing this one.
A Florida mom was busted this week for leaving her 3 year old daughter locked in her car while she went to work. What was mom’s line of work? Authorities say she worked in a strip club. She was charged with child neglect and it’s a good bet she will soon not be nominated for Mom of the Year. The mom told police that she left the child in the car briefly while she dropped someone off at the club.
Police say the child was spotted crying and wandering around the parking lot of the Vegas Cabaret in Lauderhill. The mom was ordered held without bond and her daughter was taken into protective custody at the time.
Early Christmas Decorations
Stroll through most department stores and you will discover a trove of Christmas decorations on display as the summer winds down. Now we are learning that these adornments are also going up months before Christmas in many private homes. A contributing factor according to many mental health professionals is psychological. It could be an excuse to get into a festive spirit as soon as possible, improving your mood, a yearning for a feeling of nostalgia, and Christmas decorating could spike dopamine, a feel-good hormone. Mental health therapist Deborah Serani says early decorating does create that neurological shift that can produce happiness. Yes, we are aware that the holidays for some individuals is a challenging and sad time. In fact, some do not decorate early or for that matter at all.
